Happy Holidays!

Twilight

I loved the books. I finished all 4 books in a week and a half. I went to see Twilight with Joy on Friday night. She had already seen the midnight showing (in Utah), and said it was good but not great. But I LOVED it. People talk about how immature and cheesy some of the parts were, and I agreet, but hello, people?? What were you expecting?? Are we forgetting that this is TEEN romance? (If there is even such a thing lol). That, and for those of you who have read all four books, go back and read the first book and see how 'childish' they are. TOTALLY. But, of course, you don't notice it the first time! Haha. Anyway, I love the movie. I'm going to see it again.

Skype

Jacob left for Missouri on Thursday morning for a business/training trip. :) He will return on Tuesday the 25th... meaning he will miss his birthday (November 23rd)! I'm sad about that :( I was really wanting to spend his 25th birthday with him... but I don't get to :( Anyway, Jacob brought the laptop with him so he and I could chat on Skype! I thought it would be fun to record him in Missouri from the comfort of my chair. (I am talking to him on our computer). You can see me in the bottom left corner of the chat screen lol

The Day Has Come...

I CANNOT wait to see this!!! I know, I suck for not going to see the midnight Twilight, but hello?! My friends are no where and the ones with babies and kids are just... no fun anymore (lol no offense). But anyway. I'm either going tonight or tomorrow!!! Jacob told me he'd see it with me, but that I would have to wait till he comes home from Missouri (another business trip). And I said, "HECK NO TECHNO, I AIN'T WAITIN FOR YOU!". Okay maybe I didn't say it like that... but I can't wait. I've waited too long now. the end

I love Goku

So this is Goku. He is a Shih Tzu. He belongs to my cousin Justin. We had a party last Saturday and the Oceanside cousins brought him over! Isn't he adorable! He is the cutest puppy in the world! I've been giving Jacob the pouty lips and puppy eyes to convince him that we NEED to get a puppy... a small, cute puppy... like Goku! The Oceanside cousins don't visit as often as the San Clemente kids or the Los Angeles kids do... so I might have to pay a few visits down to Oceanside just to see my Goku! haha I know, I'm needy... 

I'm Caught Up!

Okay, so I know I've been lagging with my 365 challenge (photo a day), but I have caught up, so for those of you who have been looking and seeing no update, there is finally an update! :D

Family Night

So Mondays are usually family home evening... but Jacob and I don't stay home :) Instead, we go and grab Del Taco, head over to the Lake Forest driving range/golf course, sit in the parking lot and eat while we watch people try to hit the ball. Then when we're done eating (usually around 7:00pm), I head down to the lower level of the mats, and save a spot for Jacob while he gets a bucket of balls. We split the bucket, and have little competitions on who can hit closest to a certain flag/hole. It's pretty fun! The second (and rest) of the buckets after are free! We normally hit 2 buckets and call it a night :) 

Sundays

On Sunday mornings, either Jacob or I will play the piano. He gets up before I do to review his sunday school lesson and usually watches golf or something. I took this picture from upstairs

Today after church, Jacob and I went home, changed out of our church clothes, and went to my grandma's house. That's what we normally do on Sundays. The cousins weren't there... so it was pretty boring. Jacob and I decided to go out and just drive around. No particular stops-- just go for a nice drive in the jeep. So we did. We took his picture at a stop light somewhere :)

When we got back home, we had dinner and Jacob talked to his mom and brother on the phone. I fed the dogs... and Skippy got away from the laundry room and hopped on his daddy's lap lol. Every time Skippy hears Jacob, but can't see him, he cries and cries. But today he had his fill. :D 

Skippy can be scrubby sometimes... as you can see. Haha look at Skippy's goatee lol

Blogging From ShoZu

I hope this thing works. I tried the LifeCast application and I couldn't make an entry with text AND images. Its one or the other :( But this ShoZu application will hopefully be the answer to my blogger/blogspot wishes!

This Better Work!

I'm gonna try this out... I have been looking for an app for my iPhone that I made for blogger/blogspot or whatever, and there isn't one! There is, however, an application called "LifeCast", which is compatible with blogspot! So this is a test! I am blogging from my iphone through this lifecast app, and hoping that this works!

365 Photo Challenge

I came across someone's blog, and she is doing the 365 photo challenge! I thought it was a cool idea so I decided to do it, too! I created another blog and did my first photo yesterday. Well, I am counting it as 0 (zero) because I am going to start day 1 today! We'll see what I take a picture of...

So if you have been reading my entries, you know that Jacob had an interview with a lighting company a couple of weeks ago. Well, this past week was his first week working there, and I was so excited for him because he got to wear his business casual attire, rather than cargo shorts and shirts covered with texture. I love the way he looks in a nice shirt and tie (and pants, duh). So Jacob now works for Tivoli Lighting as one of the sales reps. I think there are only 3 or 4 of them, so this is a pretty big deal! Tivoli handles all the crazy, awesome lighting you see in casinos, movie theaters, halls, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if they did the spectrum lighting! That's how cool they are! Haha (sorry about the bragging-- I'm just really proud of Jacob!)

On Thursday the CEO and Director of Sales asked him to go to China to finalize a deal with one of the companies there. CHINA!!! I know, I couldn't believe my eyes either! (I say 'eyes' because he texted me this info). Anyway, I was so ecstatic that he has the opportunity to go there! I went there when I was a junior in high school with the orchestra and it was so much fun! But of course, Jacob will be going there for business... It's a short trip (like all the other trips he's made to Lompoc), but it still feels like forever to me. He'll be in Macau, China, which is pretty much on the bottom edge area of China (on the right next to Hong Kong). 

My Vote Counts

I think the funny thing about so many opposers of Prop 8 is the fact that they call us supporters 'intolerant' and 'hateful'... yet when I am out there waving the Yes on 8 signs in what I think is a nice and peaceful manner, doing nothing but standing there and smiling, and driving by corners where I see and wave to fellow supporters, I hear opponents yelling curse words, flipping us off-- sometimes throwing things... and then I think, "you're calling US intolerant and hateful?". It’s sad that propostion 8 has caused so much bad between the Yes and No voters. It’s sad that so many people are having a hard time distinguishing between “definition” and “discrimination”. I read somewhere that they say they don’t want us taking away rights, well we aren’t taking away any rights. In fact, the argument is that by allowing Prop 8 to fail, we will be taking away the rights of those that believe in traditional marriage.

I am voting Yes on proposition 8 because I have ALWAYS believed and still believe in this. *I am not doing it because I hate gays or because I’m ‘intolerant, ignorant, or hateful’. I am NOT intolerant, I am NOT ignorant, and I am NOT hateful. I believe that marriage between a man and a woman is the best way to define the fundamental unit of society. ...That traditional marriage should be kept sacred. Those are MY views. I don’t hate others for standing up for what THEY think is best, so I don’t think it is right for others to hate me for sticking to my standards. *If a majority decides that same-sex marriage is also “the best way”, I will have to live with it. The last thing I want to be is a hater. But until then, *I am voting yes because I believe that my vote matters... just like everyone else’s. 

*I know that whatever the outcome, the losing side of this vote will never be happy, and will have to learn to live with it. 

If this proposition fails, at least I know I had the opportunity to support something I strongly believe in and be part of something so great that is a part of history today. 

If you are able to vote, I say go out there and make your vote count. Stand for what YOU believe in, no matter what that is. :)
