Couch Hog Again!

So this is the second entry about Coco being a couch hog! This is where I was sitting and she decided to climb on top of me and squeeze between Jacob and me! I decided to just get up and move to another seat. You can barely see her in this picture! She blends in pretty well with the couch lol!

HandaMade!

So I took this picture back in 2008 during Thanksgiving. This photo studio is my mama's. She brought everything over to my grandma's house so every one in our family could have their family pics taken. We were testing the white balance so Mama jumped in front of the camera and I took a picture.

I decided to take advantage of the white backdrop and do a little editting.... I made this for her shop! She has an online shop on Etsy called "HandaMade". Check out what I did! Those apples she's holding are the apple jackets that she knitted, along with that monster shark bottle cozy on her right hand.

HIS office...

This is where it's at! Here is a before and after picture I forgot to post a while back... it's the den (or 5th "bedroom" off the family room). We couldn't decide if we wanted it to be a library or an office. Well, apparently we have more office-looking stuff than we do library-looking stuff. ...So Jacob wins. The room looks bigger in the first picture because I took the picture from the other room! Oh, and that ugly floor lamp in the first picture is NOT ours! yuck.

Oh So Beautiful

Yesterday, Jacob and I went to Mama's house in San Clemente for a Father's Day BBQ. It was fun :) We ate, hung out, watched t.v... you know, the usual stuff that goes on during family weekend time! Jacob and I left their house later than we planned, and since their house is in San Clemente, it is closer to Ortega, than taking the 241 (which we normally take if it's late at night and we don't want to risk our lives driving thru the un-lit highway of the Saddleback Mountains)! But Jacob's driven thru the Ortega in daylight, night, dusk, dawn, etc. Luckily, the highway is lined with reflectors EVERYWHERE-- well, on the Orange County side, anyway! The Riverside side doesn't have as many reflectors, but it's still okay. We reached the look out and Jacob decided to pull over and take a look at the city. It was SO BEAUTIFUL. I wish I had a real camera with me. I only had my iPhone.

Pier 1 Imports

Jacob and I went to Pier 1 Imports today! We needed some pillow cushions for our dining chairs! We thought red would be a good color to use between the family room and the kitchen, so we went with red pillow cushions!

Also, we bought a couple of "honey" colored pillows to brighten up the couch since we had too much brown lol "Oh c'mon! You can never have too much brown!", says the brown girl.
Hehe, now we are off to San Clemente :)

Now We Can Eat!

Jacob and I have been without a dining table for the past... oh... forever! Nah, actually we had a dining table back in 2007-2008 when we were living in our apartment in Laguna Niguel. We had to sell the darn thing because we moved and had no space for it in our storage unit (we had so much other "important" stuff)! Anyway, last night we were at World Market (one of our favorite stores) and Jacob found this dining set!

Original cost of furniture:
-Table: $499.99
-Bench: $199.99 x 2 (since we need 2!)
-Chair: $99.99 x 2
TOTAL: $1099.95 plus tax!

Here's what we paid:
-Table: $199.00
-Bench: $99.99 x 2 (since we have 2 benches!)
-Chair: $64.99 x 2 (since we have 2 chairs)
TOTAL: $528.96 plus tax!

We saved over $500! I think that is pretty awesome! We bought what we needed and drove home and assembled everything! Oh, and those red pillow cushions are from Pier 1 Imports! We bought them today! Now time for some action shots!

Kitchen Hardware

Jacob and I have been without knobs and handles since we've moved in! ...But as of last month in May, our kitchen cabinets and drawers are no longer naked! We drew a little blue print of our cabinets-- I didn't realize we had so many of them! We had to buy 33 knobs and 12 handles! We bought them from Home Depot. I marked the cabinets, Jacob drilled the holes, and we both tightened them on! Voila! (vwala!)

Ahhh

Church today was awesome! Our friend and neighbor, Tanya Nolan, taught Relief Society today. She is one of the COOLEST people I have ever met! She totally reminds me of Amy Adams-- the actress from the movie "Enchanted". She is such a great teacher, and is very enthusiastic about it! She gave a great lesson about prophets :)

After church, Jacob and I went home and napped for a while. We woke up and it was SO hot in our room! Actually, our entire house was pretty hot. We both went outside and dipped our feet in the pool. Ohmygoodness, it felt so great! We changed into our swimsuits and sat in the pool for a few minutes. Jacob even got Coco to join us lol

Car Wash

Jacob and I did some cleaning in our yard. We cleaned the pool, picked up the pieces of the floaty noodles that Coco chewed up, fixed the sprinklers, and took the Prius to the carwash!

We found this carwash off Murrieta Hot Springs and Winchester. It's pretty cool. Most of the wash-it-yourself carwashes require you to put coins in the machine and then it gives you a certain time limit before the water/soap/dryer shuts off. This carwash we went to allows you to swipe your debit card and it charges you until you turn the knob to "Stop"! ...which is convenient for us since we never have change, nor do we care to keep refilling the machine with more quarters! I didn't get to take a picture of the car while it was wet, but here is Jacob using the vacuum dryer thing to dry off the car!

Couch Hog

Whenever Jacob and I are on the couch, watching tv, Coco somehow manages to push me off and hog all the seating! What a daddy's girl...
