The Quilted Bear

Every time Jacob and I go to Utah, we have to stop at the Quilted Bear. This is the sign they had on the front of their sliding doors... Walk straight into them??? What a bunch of tools! lol

Also, I got to take a picture with a ginormous bear!

Man! I feel like a woman!

Jacob and I went to his sister Jessica's house. She has these clip on extensions that she wears in her hair. We had no idea she was even wearing them until she took them out. She had TONS clipped on her head! Jacob decided to be dorky and clip them on his head. This is what happens when men get a hold of girl accessories...

He is sexy or what? ......what. hahahah

I couldn't stop laughing

Here we are doing are gay pose
We needed a good laugh.

Also, for those of you who don't know who Ben Folds is, he is Ben Folds Five... he is also one of the judges on the Sing Off! Anyways, Jacob and I didn't realize until the other night, but Jacob's Uncle Scott looks like an older version of Ben Folds! Ha!

SNOW!

Today was the first time I got to see it SNOW! I've been IN snow and played in it, but I've never got to experience the snow actually fall! It was so magical. I wanted to stay outside forever... And then I realized, when snow like this gets on you, it melts and gets your clothes wet. Boo.

Grandpa Kern

Last week, Jacob's mom called and told us hat Jacob's grandpa (his mother's dad) was in the hospital due to an infection. Sadly, the infection spread through is body, and he died a day after being in the hospital. Jacob and I went to Utah for the funeral. It a nice ceremony. Very comforting and made me miss Grandpa very much. We are so blessed that our family can be together forever and that we have the knowledge that we will see Grandpa Kern again soon!

The picture below is a drawing of Grandpa in the military. Drawn by Russell Dilworth, Jacob's cousin's husband.

Homemade Biscuits

I made biscuits for the first time today! I normally use the canned biscuits like Pillsbury or Grands, but we didn't have any... so I had to do it the old fashioned way! It was fun! They turned out pretty nice... and they were yummy! We had biscuits and gravy for breakfast :) yum

Dogpartment

Jacob built this dog house for Coco and Bella! And there is a guest room for visiting dogs! Look how happy Coco is! Hahaha... She APPEARS bigger than the apartment, but she has plenty of room in her space! I tried getting a picture of Bella but she wouldn't sit still :)

I am so happy because now the dogs have shelter when it rains! AND the roof is tilted so when it rains, it falls behind! I am so blessed to have a handy husband!

Happy Birthday Emmy!

So last night I made pumpkin log for the first time. I wanted to make some for my friend Emily Slusser- today is her birthday! So last night, after the pumpkin logs were made, I wrapped them up and put them in the fridge overnight.

This is what ours looked like (we made 2 logs).

Jacob and I drove to Emmy's house. In the 1 1/2 years we've lived here in Murrieta (only minutes away from Em), this was actually the first time we visited her! Sad, but true. It was a surprise visit. We were only meaning to drop off the pumpkin cookies and pumpkin log, but Emmy invited us in and we sat and talked for quite a while! This was also the first time we got to meet their baby boy (who's not so baby anymore), Dean! He just turned one! I don't have any pictures except for these that we took when we were leaving. :)

Happy birthday, Emmy!
The sun was in our eyes. Mine especially...

OMG. WHY!?!?

I didn't get much sleep last night. I had a hard time keeping my eyes open this morning at work. I walked down to the cafe to buy a Rockstar. It was raining all day yesterday and this morning. I walked in and didn't see this tiny water puddle. I slipped, twisted my left ankle, which caused my body to turn left, and I fell on my right side and ended up on my back. Heather, my supervisor was there ordering food and Lia Penty (another supervisor) was there as well. There were other people who saw me fall. People stared at me with a *GASP!* look... And after 3 LONG seconds, I finally said, "can somebody please help me!?".

Heather and Lia rushed to my side. I tried to get up and couldn't. I couldn't even move my foot. I tried and it hurt so bad, I started tearing up. D came and brought ice. Heather hurried off to get Celeste, the Safety Manager. I couldn't walk so they offered me a wheelchair. I said yes of course. ...Little did I know, it was a grandma wheelchair. LOL It was actually fun.. but still embarrassing. So embarrassing, Heather just HAD to take a picture-- she couldn't stop laughing.

Anyway, Viki, my manager, and Heather, both walked me to Viki's van. I "drove" the grandma wheelchair and they helped me get in the van. Heather had to take the grandma chair back in... so she drove it in! It was raining also... hence the umbrella. LOL she looks dorkier than me! HA!

So Viki and I went to South Coast Medical Group in Aliso Viejo. Luckily, I didn't break anything! But the doctor said I sprained both my ankle and foot really bad, so it will take a long time to heal. I have to get lots of sitting/laying down time with my foot up and iced. After the doctors, I went back to work, sat at my desk with my foot up, and tried to work. It wasn't easy becasue I could still feel the pain. I couldn't take any of the Vicodin my doctor gave me because I had an hour and 1/2 drive home and I didn't want to fall asleep while on the Ortega! Heather sent me home and as soon as I got in, I took the Vicodin! Worst day of my life.

I remembered that tomorrow is my friend Emily Slusser's birthday. I needed to bake cookies or something.. I decided to make pumpkin log, but had NOTHING to make it. II went to get groceries... and lucky me, I drove the hoveround shopping cart! Tomorrow you will see the pumpkin log.

JUST DANCE!

Tonight was WAY fun! We had dinner, let our food digest, and played Just Dance on Wii! I would much rather have the Kinect on Xbox and dance, but we don't have an Xbox! Anyways, At times all 4 of us would dance, then just the girls, then just the boys, then couples... it was awesome! Dustin and Jacob danced to this Bollywood song... The song is for a couple... it was hilarious!
