Saturday Adventure - San Diego

For our Saturday Adventure, we went to San Diego. Our main destination was Downtown San Diego, but we wanted to stop by the temple and just walk around. It was great being there. Even when you are just outside, it's magical. Jacob and I haven't been to the San Diego temple since we were married! That was over 5 years ago. We lived in Orange County, so we always went to the Newport Beach temple. It was a cloudy morning, but we had enough light!

We then made our way to Downtown SD and went to the USS Midway Museum. We wore our headphones for the audio tour-- which, after 15 minutes, I turned off because it was so boring lol. I was too busy just looking at everything and taking pictures! I have the attention span of a 4 year old.
Can you believe the guys slept in these 'bunks'? That's craziness. Talk about uncomfortable.
I love buttons and switches.
I peer-pressured Jacob and Dustin into doing one of the flight simulator rides! Haha. Well, they really didn't need to be pressured. I know they really wanted to go on lol! Boys will be boys...

I really wanted to buy that cap and goggles
This is on the top deck of the Midway. This is Jacob's favorite-- the F-14 Tomcat
Helicopters! I always have to say 'helicopter' in a british accent. Or I say "choppa". Hahaha... don't ask.
That's one big choppa

Look how happy he is sitting in there!

This huge statue was sculpted after the unforgettable photograph of a sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square. It was titled "Kissing The War Goodbye" and photographed by Alfred Eisenstaedt. The sailor and nurse have been identified as Glenn McDuffie and Edith Shain... though many sailors and nurses came forward, claiming it was them who was in the picture.

Now on to Imperial Beach!
My favorite picture!

On our way home, we passed by the temple again. I hurried and opened my window, and snapped this shot! Not bad for being taken from a moving vehicle!
