WHY ME

There are areas on the Ortega Highway where you have signal and where you have NO HOPE! The area of no hope is in the canyon. No signal, and probably only 1 call box (which I still haven't seen).

While I was still in the canyon, my "( ! )" light/icon came up on my dash. This ( ! ) means that one of my tire's air pressure is low. The light never stayed on. It would turn off. Then turn back on. Anyway, I figured, "I'll just go to the closest gas station (in Ladera Ranch) and I'll put air in my tires". As soon as I started driving up towards the ranch where my favorite horses are, I could hear this "kadunk kadunk kadunk" sound. One of my tires was flat. I pulled over right away-- luckily I was only a few feet from a turn off. I called Jacob at home, he got in his truck and drove to come rescue me. Thank goodness he had that truck! I called AAA to come and put my spare on. I know how to change a tire. I just don't have enough strength to carry one! And I'm glad I didn't attempt to try to remove the flat because the tire (on the inside part) was shredded. It was like an unraveled stitch-- only it had these tiny needles sticking out of the tread and it cannot be fixed.

I was so bored while waiting for AAA and Jacob, I took a picture of the horses. Haha

Jacob came and he followed me to the nearest shop by my work in RSM, dropped off the Prius, and he drove me to work. I really hate getting flat tires-- yes, it has happened to me more than once. But I am grateful that it happened outside of the canyon and that I had phone signal. But I'm not grateful for having to pay so much for TWO tires. Yes, two tires because another tire was ripping. Okay well, I am grateful that only ONE tire went flat on me. And I'm of course grateful for Jacob for rescuing me!
