This is to the graduated class of 1996 of La Tierra Elementary. Our elementary school will be closing down this June and so many of us alumnis are broken-hearted. It was a small school. It was built as an overflow school for ...umm.. extra kids from Del Cerro. Our 6th grade class was so close because there was only one class. Everyone was friends with everyone-- no groups, no cliques, no hatin'! 

Eternal Love Is The Best Kind

So Jacob and I didn't really have anything planned for Valentine's Day. It's a ridiculous holiday. Why do you need a special day to tell the one you love that you love them? Because people back then were stupid! lol. I enjoy Valentine's day because everyone always gets extra special treatment. C'mon, you all agree with me. It's true! But I also think that EVERY day should be a day to tell your significant other that you love them :) I'm glad that Jacob and I do that and that we don't take it for granted. 

This past saturday we decided to make stuff. I LOVE doing projects with Jacob. He is so creative and talented and always puts his skills to use! Last year, he was online and found this: 

Obviously, it means 'eternal' in Kanji (Chinese characters used in modern Japanese writing). If you look, you can kinda see a 'j' and a 'k' (for Jacob and Krischelle)! Jacob and I went out to breakfast on Saturday morning, then made a stop at Home Depot-- one of my favorite places to go! I love projects! So Jacob bought some wood and cut one big piece in half to make 2 squares. 

He drew the 'eternal' character on one of the pieces of wood (let's call it square 1). He used my jig-saw to cut it out carefully so that he has the pieces, and the actual hole in the square piece of wood.  

He used pegs to make the 'eternal' symbol stand out from the other piece of wood (square 2) like so:

Then placed red and blue led/neon lights (from his company Tivoli) at the top and bottom of the square. 

He took the other piece of wood (square 1 -with the 'eternal' stencil ) and placed it over the other square piece of wood with the cut-outs. Take a look see:

And voila! You have beautiful wall art! :D I love this! 

Isn't it amazing how these other colors show up just from the blue and red lights?

it's not quite finished, but when it is, we'll take a picture of it hanging on the wall! 

I'm Back

Yes, it has been forever! Anyway, I have been working on a few things that I just can't seem to get right. (some of you may know what I am talking about). I decided to give up and try something else.. cuz I suck! Anyway, enough of that... 

On a happier note...  Check out what my mama made to sell on her Etsy Shop!!! She made a shark cup sleeve... and I asked her to make an octopus one.... here they are! 

***and you don't necessarily have to use them as coffee sleeves, either! you can use them as pencil cup holder sleeves or ...something! haha

hahah oh man...

Okay so I have this BFF since I was 4 years old. Her name is Ashley Eliot and she used to live 2 houses down from my grandmas (which is basically my first home-- first, not second lol). Anyway, I don't even remember how we became friends or how we met, but she was 2 and I was 4 and that's how this beautiful thing happened... lol, jk. So anyway, she is a DJ on her radio show KUCI for Press Pass Music (all OC bands!) AND she is the editorial assistant for the OC magazines. I love that my friends are famous.

all grown up..

The Porting Tree

[Christmas 2007]

So my friend Shannon and I have this little Christmas tree that we decorated last year (with very limited resources). As you can see above, we used fuschia string lights, candy canes, black halloween garland with purple bats, and a silver pipe cleaner as the star. :) 

This year, Shannon brought in a real star! We don't have any real Christmas ornaments, so we made our own with what we had! I used my lei that they gave me for my birthday, and then it all just started from there. We work in the Porting Department, so we had everyone in our team contribute an ornament that they made! 

Since we work at Cox Communications, I made the 'i love cox' ornament (because we all love working here... not! haha), along with the pink snowflake made from a post-it note, the orange/red origami ball at the top right, the silver star (from last year), and the Starbucks paper plate (since everyone at work loves Starbucks)!

We all agreed that this was the best Christmas tree in all of Cox Communications! haha

It's amazing what you can do with mini paper plates and black and green sharpies! 

Preparing For A Baby...

Haha... yeah, you thought this entry was going to be about babies! It sort of is when this new object of my affection is keeping me up at night with her drinking and eating, whining and crying, peeing and pooping...

 On Friday I went to work and brought the Penny Saver with me. The Penny Saver is like a newspaper/magazine ad the comes in the mail, which has tons of local listings like apartment renting, coupons for almost everything, things for sale (stuff, cars, instruments, puppies...). A week ago Jacob and I were talking about his Christmas present for me. I was trying to guess and he pretty much gave it away! So I was super excited because I've been wanting a puppy for a while.  We talked about mini pinschers, jack russells, great danes (haha yah right!), shih tzus, corgis, beagles, and labs. He even took me around town to look at puppies just to get an idea of the "variety" that's out there. I fell in love with the chocolate lab we saw at the mall... but it was expensive! And my family has never paid for any of the dogs we've had-- they were either given to us by friends, or rescued dogs. 

Anyway, back to the Penny Saver... I saw this ad and nearly died! haha not really. But I freaked out and HAD to circle it and bring it home to Jacob!!! 

So the outcome? The next morning (Saturday), Jacob gives the owner a call to check if they still had any puppies left. And they had two! They have the mother and father there as well (both very nice chocolate labs). So the puppies are pure bred. The owner wanted $500. Jacob said, "I'll give you 400". (And this is after the guy learned that Jacob spoke spanish fluently)! So the guy says, "Solamente porque hablas espanol". Which means, "only because you speak spanish...". And in my head I was like, "FREAK YEAH!"  haha. So I picked between the two last labs left-- both females. They were named Hope and Joy. Haha I picked Joy! :D (thanks, cousin!). And Jacob and I decided to call her Coco.

I Love Him...

Jacob and I spent the late afternoon at home, just talking about things. We were getting hungry, so we got fixed ourselves up and he took me out for dinner! It was a late dinner. It was almost 9pm, and he suggested we go to my favorite restaurant (Olive Garden). I was hoping it would still be open. Because some lame-o restaurants close early. Anyway, we ending up going. They don't close till 11pm so we got lucky! I had a salad appetizer and he had the soup (both salad and soup were unlimited), so he asked for another bowl so I could have some soup :) We both ordered the Seafood Portofino (which is what I ALWAYS order when I go!). We ate and talked and laughed. I love him so much and I have so much fun with him whenever we go out anywhere. Tonight we tried something new-- we had Italian sodas, which are pretty much like cream sodas with different flavors. Jacob had raspberry added to his and I had caramel-- totally yum!

I discovered a website through my friend Wendy called faceinhole.com! It's awesome. There are a bunch of cool (and some provocative) looking pictures where you can upload a pic of yourself and put your face on there! I was having so much fun doing mine and Jacob's that I decided to make some for my whole family! Then I came up with the idea of making a slideshow (which we did on our mac).. and we showed it to everyone on Thanksgiving! It was fun to see everyone's faces when they realized it was THEIR picture. Good times, good laughs! Since I can't actually put the slideshow on here, I just uploaded the pictures on our mac gallery: (it may be a little fuzzy since the pictures aren't made to be that big)

Ahh, Family...

So we spent Thanksgiving with my side of the fambam here in California. We went over to grandma's house. It was fun. All the cousins were there. A couple months ago, Mama and I took Joy and her family's pictures for them. Everyone else in our family wanted their pictures taken, so Mama brought her photo studio (lights, umbrellas, backdrop and all), to grandmas. After we ate, we all just hung around (to let the food settle), and then it was time for pictures! Keith showed me how to set it up (even though I already knew) and I took everyone's pictures! It was really fun. 

Here they are: (some will just make you laugh because we were being really silly). There are a couple of my cousin Troy (big guy) and he's got some individual pics that are funny (he's copying Justin and acting like a ham) lol
